In 2015, Palmetto State Rice Company originally began as an idea to create wetland habitat. Two years later, that idea started to materialize with a five pound bag of Chinese Black Rice in a 1/10th acre retention pond bottom.

        From a humble beginning, the rice operation began to grow at a rapid pace. In 2018 the company started its first year of production with 14 acres. That production acreage has expanded to almost 100 acres in 2021.

        Since launching production in 2018, great accomplishments have been achieved for rice cultivation in South Carolina​.

        By 2020, Palmetto State Rice Company began searching for innovative paths to broaden the scope of this operation beyond the field. This has brought us to where we are today. Welcome to the website!
